Ģirts’ music journey started at the age of 16, when he enrolled in Ventspils Music Middle School to the Popular and Jazz Music department. Ever since he started to learn to play the guitar.

Continued his studies at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy at the Jazz Guitar department. Although, after two years he returned back to Ventspils and started teaching guitar.

Currently, he is working on original projects, write, play and arrange his own music, and perform playing in different bands.
